Resumption of senior cricket

01 Jul 2020

Good afternoon all

As you may be aware, the Herts League is aiming to start a shortened league season on 11 July, which would enable 50% of the remaining scheduled fixtures to be played before the end of the season. However, this restart date should be considered to be very tentative as currently the government have not yet given any indication that recreational cricket is close to a restart. But to ensure that we are not caught cold, and so that we can understand our capacity to fulfill our remaining Saturday and Sunday fixtures, please could playing members update their availability on the club website.

If recreational cricket is given the green light to resume, we will ensure that fixtures are managed safely and in line with any national guidance from the ECB. But risk can never be totally eliminated, and those members who have underlying health conditions, or who are part of a household that contains an "at risk" adult or child, should think carefully about their playing availability. There is no pressure from the club to resume playing and we understand, and respect, that some members will not feel comfortable playing cricket this year.

Please feel to get in touch with me on 07966 279 882 if you have any questions or concerns.

best wishes
