With the last game of the season this Saturday, I wanted to send out an e-mail to the membership to give a brief end of season update ahead of further information being shared over the coming weeks.
I want to pass on my thanks to all of the volunteers and club members that have made this season possible, from the grounds team, junior coaches and helpers, the cricket & executive committee, all of the players that have represented the club this season plus the umpires and scorer's and anyone else who i have forgotten to include.
This season has seen the club take a significant step forward from the last season where at the AGM concerns were raised around the long term future of the club and how the club needed to almost get back to it's roots by having a strong junior set up, playing members enjoying their cricket and a membership that was invested in the future of the club. I feel that as a club we have made a positive start in addressing some of those concerns and have laid some great foundations for future success's but the work doesn't stop at the end of the season as planning and preparation for the 2025 season will soon be in full swing.
There are a number of roles within the committee and the club in general that are either vacant as i write this e-mail or will be come the AGM which will be held later this year, to name but a few of the positions we need to have in place after the AGM,
Club Secretary, Pavilion Manager, Sponsorship Manager, Social Secretary along with roles outside of the committee including Junior Coaches and Junior team managers, Kit manager and the list goes on, ahead of the AGM the club will send out some communication with more specific details of some of the roles that need filling along with some information on what they entail. That said if there is anyone interested in a particular role or wants to get involved in helping out then please feel free to reach out to myself or any of the committee members and we will do oiur best to answer any questions that you might have.
Some dates for your diary,
Saturday 14th September - End of season inter club friendly, all are welcome to come along and watch with the bar being open from 2pm
Senior Awards Night Saturday 2nd November @ Little Hay with tickets still available
AGM - Date to be confirmed but will be before the end of 2024
We also have Boxmoor CC Darts & Pool teams that play in local leagues on Monday, Wednesday & Friday evenings, once all fixtures have been confirmed the dates will be added to the club calendar and club members are more than welcome to come down and show their support.
Lastly an I also ask that all playing members keep their eyes peeled for the last batch of invoices for games played that you will be receiving shortly, prompt payment will be greatly appreciated as this will allow us to get everything up to date for the end of the club's financial year.
I hope to see as many of you as possible this Saturday at the club as it promises to be a fun end to the season
Kind Regards
Matt
