Coronavirus Update for Boxmoor Cricket Club Members

26 Mar 2020

The latest advice from the ECB has now been issued, and all forms of recreational cricket has been suspended from March 18th. We do not know when it will restart.

ECB have issued the attached document to clarify the position and there will be further advice from the ECB as the implication of this statement becomes clear over the coming weeks.

However, the immediate impact on Boxmoor Cricket Club is as follows:

  • Winter Nets for Juniors and Seniors has been suspended
  • Whilst our outdoor nets are still up, please do not use them. This is especially important after the Government’s advice on Staying at Home and Social Distancing.
  • The Senior Registration event planned for 11th April is cancelled.

However, we are still hopeful that Cricket will be played sometime during 2020, we just don’t know when.

To keep this viable, the committee will be working behind the scenes to keep the pavilion and grounds ready for commencement of cricket later on in the year. Plus, looking forward, we hope to run the Junior Summer Cricket camps, but this is obviously subject to change.

Stay safe and we will get back to you with further news over the coming days.

Lastly, if any members feel isolated or require assistance in any way, please contact Keith McKay on 07966 279 882 or kmckay124@btinternet.com
