2nd Team Captain - Election

All,

We have 2 nominations for the Saturday 2nd Team Captain, Aaron Hinton and Anum Hamdami. Normally this would be raised at the AGM where both parties would be asked to say why they should be elected. This would be followed by a secret ballot. As we have a "Virtual" AGM, that's not possible. Instead, I attach each Nominee's election address, can you decide who you want to vote for and email me by close of play, Thursday 17th December. I will collate the result and give the result at the AGM. You can only vote if you are a Fully Paid Up Senior Member or an Honorary Member, as per item 4 of the constitution.  https://www.boxmoorcricketclub.co.uk/pages/page_32267/Club-Constitution.aspx

Anum Hamdani

Dear Members,

I have put myself forward/nominated for 2nd XI Captaincy at Boxmoor this season starting 2021.

I have been a member of this club for more than 7 years and have been accepted as a family member from day one. During this tenure I have had the opportunity to learn and progress with this club. Now I feel I have a chance to give something back to the club.

I believe, given this opportunity, I would be a great choice for captaincy of the 2nd XI; I have played the game of cricket for many years now and have contributed positively in many big games, under high pressure situations, such as the 2017 game against Watford Town when we sealed promotion for the second team. Throughout the years I have been at Boxmoor,  I have observed the different captain styles brought to the table by Nick, Richard, and Jay and feel that I too could bring my knowledge of the game to the club and share with the younger generations.

I feel that I am the best suited to lead this promising team to the next level and future promotion.

Thanks & Regards
Anum Hamdani

Aaron Hinton

Hello!

I’m standing for the Saturday 2nd XI captaincy because I believe the 2s are overdue a much needed promotion, which would make the whole club stronger. I have a history of delivering with 3 successive promotions as captain of the Sunday 1s in the competitive Chess Valley League a few years ago.

Having had the experience of being a captain, team secretary, and head of cricket in the past for Boxmoor, I’m well prepared for the off field duties and obstacles which can occur too with captaincy.

I pride my captaincy on getting the best out of players, playing enjoyable and competitive cricket, whilst also having introduced many young talented players to league cricket as well. I also believe I have a great understanding of what players strengths are at the club having played with most of you across various teams over the years.

If you have any questions before the vote then please feel free to get in contact with me directly (aaronhammer@hotmail.com).

All the best.

Aaron
