The 100 Club is a very important source of income to the club, it helps the club continue to improve the facilities which benefit players, as it provides a regular stream of revenue coming in. Subs help to pay for the day to day running of the club, paying the bills etc and our various sponsorship deals, including Tim Barton, has helped pay for the refurbishment of the kitchen and toilets in 2011, and the new boiler in 2012. However to continue to do this, we need money from other sources. However it is a way that you can also win, with monthly prizes.

The winter nets will begin on Tuesday the 10th January 2012 at Redbourn Choice Cricket Centre. They will be from 8-9pm and 3 nets will be in operation.

Following the recent AGM and committee meeting, we are delighted to announce that all captain roles have been decided. They are as follows:

Saturday 1st XI Captain - Ian Gorringe
Saturday 2nd XI Captain - Rob Feander
Saturday 3rd XI Captain - John Scott
Sunday 1st XI Captain - Luke Hinton
Sunday 2nd XI Captain - Aaron Hinton

Saturday's remain the same as last season with nobody stepping down or challenging. After a successful campaign last season, each captain will be looking to improve even more in 2012 within the Saracens Herts Leagues.

Both Sunday captains have changed, but not without a good battle. Both Stan Williamson & Nazam Hussain decided not to continue with their existing roles, which left both positions vacant. At the AGM both Aaron Hinton & Luke Hinton put themselves forward for the Sunday 1st XI role, and it couldn't have been closer between the brothers. After 22 members voted, it was tied at 11 each. On a second vote Luke Hinton won. At the AGM nobody had put themselves forward for the role, so it was left vacant. Aaron then after the AGM and before the committee meeting put himself forward to take the opportunity.

Sunday Cricket in 2012 will be a big change for Boxmoor CC. The 1st XI re-enter the Chess Valley League, in league 7 (of 8). It is generally thought that entering near the bottom of the league structure, that the Sunday 1's should challenge that league with the players we have, and look for instant promotion. The Sunday 2nd XI will be an opportunity for junior cricketers to learn the adult game, with help and support of senior players. With Aaron's experience as a Captain previously, as well as taking his Level 1 Coaching badge this winter, it should be a good fit all round.

After the AGM, a few positions remain vacant and need to be filled.
They are:
Pavilion Manager
Sponsorship Manager
100 Club Manager
Merchandise Manager

Last night at the annual Boxmoor Cricket Club dinner & dance, the 2011 award winners were announced. To find out who won what check this link:

On Friday September 9th The Herts Junior League held their presentation evening at Berkhamsted CC. A great turn out by Boxmoor's Under 13s, shown here collecting their County Shield from former England bowler Angus Fraser.

On Sunday 11th September 2011 history was made at the Boxmoor Oval.

Brook Townsend & Alex Humphrey took to the pitch to face Flamstead. After the 40 overs had finished, both were still there and had a record partnership of 333*. Brook finished on 186* with Alex on 116*.

Not only was this record broken but Brook Townsend also smashed Eran Kasthuriarachchi's most runs in a season record. 

If you hadn't have guessed Boxmoor went on to win the game by 181 Runs, just 1 run short of equalling the greatest runs victory for Boxmoor.

Also 1 week earlier for the Saturday 2nd XI, Andrew Price posted the best bowling figures on record with 8 wickets for 39 runs against Welwyn Garden City.
