New BCC shirts now available

As you will no doubt have seen or heard, December 19 have agreed to be our new club sponsor for the 2018 season.

To support their generosity as sponsors, the club need to publicise their company as much as possible. The signage on the club wall will be changed and the shirts will have the new sponsors logo on it as modelled by Lloyd Larkins in the attached picture.

Shirts are now available to be purchased at Romida and it would be appreciated if you can get these by the start of the new season. Training kit is also available at Romida and is on the website attached.

The big bumper Christmas December 100 club draw was drawn today Wednesday 31st January 2018  by Rachel Dickinson and Peter Lockley.

Can all winners please e-mail their bank details to  who will arrange a bank transfer - thank you in advance.

The winners are as follows for December  2017:

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all who participated.

A standing order of just £4 per month buys you 5 shares and the chance to win one of the above monthly prizes.  It is also a great fund raiser for the cricket club.

If you are a player already paying a monthly direct debit to cover your annual subs and match fees then why not increase that by £4 per month.

Or you can buy 1 share which will be a one off annual cost of £15

So if you are not currently a member of the 100 club, why not?  If you are, why not ask friends and family to join us as well, the more that join the more the prizes will continue to be.

Please contact Rachel Dickinson now for any questions or to join e-mail

Winners are also available to view on 100 club winners page on the website.

06 Jan 2018 : Winter Nets Best Practice

Hi All

Winter Net sessions are now underway and a reminder that they take place every Tuesday evening at Choice Cricket Centre from 8:00pm-9:00pm. The cost for each session is £5. Nets are available to everyone from 15 year olds upwards.

Dress Code:

Players to wear a cricket shirt (any colour or team) or a cricket related top/hoody/tracksuit top etc.

Appropriate footwear for an indoor surface– clean trainers. No shoes or boots.

Tracksuit bottoms or shorts (any colour). No jeans.

No drinks or food in the hall.

The management at Choice have the right to stop anyone from practising if they do not follow the correct dress code

Net Session Best Practice

Apologies if this is teaching granny to suck eggs but I just want to ensure that best practice at nets is followed

Batsmen should return balls with an underarm throw back to the bowler

- Bowlers must wait for the first bowler to be out of the net before starting their run up to bowl.

- Players must be facing and watching the batsman and the ball at all times. Do not turn your back at any time when a bowl is being bowled.

- If a bowler is picking the ball up out of a net, they must ensure that the batsmen in the next net is not about to play a shot in case the ball is hit in their direction.

I look forward to seeing as many of you at the sessions in the coming weeks.

Kind Regards

29 Dec 2017 : Vacant Positions

> Following the 2017 AGM there were a
> number of roles which remained vacant, subsequently now is a
> good time to let you know exactly where we are as we head
> into 2018.

> Dan Hobbs has kindly come forward and
> will act as the pavilion manager for the 2018 season, Dan
> will manage the upkeep of the pavilion, more so in terms of
> ensuring that we meet all of our requirements and the
> pavilion is a safe environment for all club members and
> guests. If anyone comes across anything which needs
> replacing or repairing in the first instance please inform
> Matt via email via

> The 3rd team captaincy was also vacant
> following the AGM and with the preparations for the 2018
> season starting to take shape it was really important that
> this position was filed as soon as possible. I am delighted
> to announce that Keith McKay has been appointed as the 3rd
> team captain for the 2018 season, Keith was the vice captain
> in 2017 and he also captained the team in Dan's absence so
> he is the ideal candidate for the role. Keith has a clear
> idea in how he would like to move the 3rd team forward on
> the pitch and the club will fully support him both on
> off the pitch to achieve this.

> There are still a number of roles
> within the club that remain vacant, please see the details
> below and anyone interested in any of these roles should
> contact  a  member of the committee for further
> details.

> Head of Junior Cricket - Whilst Nick
> still has a major role within the junior cricket set up at
> Boxmoor CC, his role isn't to plan a strategy for the
> continued success of the junior section at Boxmoor, without
> a HOJC there is a danger that as a club we don't maximise
> the potential of the junior section.

> Social Secretary - Throughout the
> season we rely upon a number of social events to bring club
> members together, these events can also raise valuable funds
> for the club. At present with no social secretary in place
> there are no social events planned for the 2018 season, if
> anyone has an interest in organising a social event then
> please contact Matt via,
> there are funds available to put towards social events but
> what is needed is club members to come forward with ideas
> and suggestions of potential events

> Can I also take this opportunity to
> wish all our members, their families plus the many friends
> of Boxmoor CC a prosperous 2018

12 Dec 2017 : U15 Indoor League Update

Our Under 14's have been in indoor cricket action over the past 2 months and as their league has just ended now is a good time to update you all on their progress.

A good season saw them finish in 4th place winning 5 of their 10 games against a number of the well established local clubs, what makes their performance even more worthy is the fact that they have been playing against teams an age group older.

Well done to all of the boys that took part and also to Dave & Tim for managing the squad and games.

08 Dec 2017 : Take a look back at the end of season awards night - photos now available!

With the year drawing to a close, take a look back at the photos from our fantastic end of season awards night.

26 Nov 2017 : Senior Winter Nets
Winter Nets will start up again on Tuesday 2nd January from 8:00-9:00pm at Choice Cricket Centre, Redbourn and will run every Tuesday until 10th April.

We have booked 3 lanes again and would encourage all players to attend regularly. If you know of anyone who would be interested in joining the club, please invite them along as well.
We would also like to extend the invitation to our Under 15 age group and over.
The cost for each net session will be £5. This has gone up from last year due to Choice raising their prices to hire the nets as well the fact that we made a loss on the nets last year.
We look forward to seeing you in the new year.
Best Wishes
Aidan Pimm

03 Oct 2017 : A Big Thank You

A huge thank you to everyone for making the End of Season Awards a great success but it wouldn't be right without a special mention to Aidan and Nick for their fantastic double act hosting the awards.

Given the way events unfolded on the dance floor later on during the evening it now looks that Boxmoor CC have adopted YMCA by the Village People as a club anthem !! You have been warned

Thanks Again

20 Jul 2017 : Sponsorship - Cambridge Motors

Further good news on the sponsorship front as Cambridge Motors have decided to continue their sponsorship of the Club for another season. They are the Club’s longest sponsor and I'm delighted that the joint owners Philip King and Anthony Deer have continued with their support for another year.

Cambridge Motors are a well established firm in Hemel and are based at the top of Northridge Way in Hemel supplying a range of cars to suit all needs and requirements for personal or business use. If they do not hold a particular car in stock they will be able to source it or provide advice on viable alternatives.

Phil and Tony have access to hundreds of cars through online and trade contacts so if you do not see the car you want, or you have a specific requirement please give them a visit and they can show you a selection of cars available from their wholesale sources. Many of these vehicles are under 3 years old and very low mileage, all with full service history and prepared to the highest standards.
