With the league season just 2 weeks away now seems like the right time to go through some club information for the coming season, if you have any questions on anything listed below then please feel free to contact either Aidan Pimm or Matt Larkins in their respective roles as Head of Cricket and Chairman.
Availability - To ensure you are available for selection please ensure that your availability is on the website by Tuesday lunchtime at the latest, the selection committee will have to get 5 teams out most weekends and they won't have the time to chase everybody up. The onus is on you as a player to make sure if you want to play that your availability is updated, anyone who needs either access to the website or a "how to guide" in entering availability then please get in touch with Nick Cottrell.
Meet Times - Anyone selected to play will receive an e-mail from the club with the meet details on it, please don't be late !! There are a number of jobs to be done both before and after the game and these should be done by every member of the team and not just those that arrive on time. This also includes that the pavilion is left clean and tidy after every game, kit bags are not permitted to be left at the club either overnight or throughout the week.
Cricket Tea's - Every player is expected to take a turn and get involved in a cricket tea, this is yet another job which the captain has to organise for home games and unfortunately some players aren't prepared to do their bit. I'm sure that 2018 will be different and that the captains will have volunteers galore.
Annual Subscriptions & Match Fee's - If you don't pay then you won't play and it is as simple as that, the club has a number of electronic payment options in place to ensure that all monies due are collected, if you haven't paid for your previous game then you won't be selected for the next game. For further details on how to pay then speak to Rachel Mannering Club Treasurer who will pleased to go through all available options.
Behaviour - Boxmoor takes great pride in our reputation as a friendly club which welcomes all guests, players and match officials of all our opponents, we have a code of conduct for all members of the club and anyone found to be in breach of these codes of conduct will face disciplinary action. We have a wonderful location in which we play cricket but we must also respect the other user's of the "Moor" at all times as difficult as this maybe at times. When playing for Boxmoor you are representing the club and it's 160 years of history so please show the club and the game the respect they deserve.
Club Colours - The club has an expectation that anyone playing for Boxmoor will wear the club shirt, we have a new club sponsor "December 19" for the 2018 season and beyond, they have shown a commitment to us so in turn the least we can do is wear the club shirt with their logo on it. The kit can be purchased from Romida Cricket who are based in Hemel Hempstead, kit can be ordered in person by visiting their shop in Mark Rd or via their website.
