Match report Having won the toss St.Albans were asked to bat first on what looked to be a good batting wicket but with the promise of some help for the bowlers early on. Two St.Albans wickets in the first over set the scene for an excellent all round bowling display led by V Slade 3 for 49 and A Mahajan 3 for 15, sharp glovework from T Wright with 2 catches & 2 stumpings helped restrict St.Albans to 124 all out.
With a small total to chase the opening partnership of N.Harper 34 and M.Iqbal 18 put on 59 for the first wicket to get Boxmoor off to the perfect start, a hard hitting 29 from M.Berwick ensured that Boxmoor reached their target in the 21st over with the loss of just 4 wickets.
A third league victory in a row moved Boxmoor II into the top 5 in the league with the promise of more to come as the season continues. It was great to see opener Nick Harper return to action having spent the best part of a year sidelined with an achilles injury.
