Boxmoor Cricket Club Won By 7 Wickets

Match report A well deserved 7 wicket victory set up by an excellent team bowling display, lead by Vince Slade who bowled through the entire innings finishing with 5 for 70, figures which don't do Vince justice. He was supported well by his fellow opening partner Jim Down who finished the match with figures of 1 for 13 from 9 overs. Chorleywood III were never able to get going with the pressure mounting to score runs as their innings came to an end at 162 for 9.
In reply a fine knock of 63 not out from opener Chris Wright led the way with help from big hitters Majid Iqbal and Mark Berwick who scored 32 and 31 respectively. Tim Wright finished on 16 not out as the Father and Son combination saw Boxmoor home to a excellent victory.
This result was a further improvement on the much improved displays since the opening day defeat to Bovingdon and a similar team performance next week when St. Albans IV's are the visitors could well result in a 4th consecutive win for the Boxmoor 2nd XI.
