Boxmoor Cricket Club Won By 38 runs

Match report Boxmoor came out of an important game with 30 points and a well deserved victory but were given a fright, from our friends at Northwood Town. Having won the toss Boxmoor were looking for a big total of over 230 runs, however tight bowling and some good fielding from the Town meant that the total wanted was a lot less, once again the solid defence of Aidan Pimm gave a backbone to the innings, AP was supported by David Coster (24) and Dave Young (32), the moor total of 195 was good if not a little short of what they wanted.
The 195 looked in trouble right from the start despite the early wicket of opener Dudley for 8. Carter and Piper looked comfortable and with the score 112 for 1 Captain Feander and an unusually anxious Vice Skipper Pimm, were trying to come up with ideas, they needn't have worried as before another run was scored two wickets had fallen and 112 for 3 felt a lot better. It seemed that surviving became all important a valiant Town skipper A Hills lead the defence but the pace attack were not to be stopped and Matt Hodgins took 5-35 from 15 overs, he had excellant support from Vince Slade 2-41, but Martin "Monty" Perry finished the job taking his 3rd wicket of the day ending with figures of 3-50 that sealed the victory by 38 runs, it also left Pimmy with a massive smile on his face and many beers were drunk.
