Match report Following a winning start to their league campaign last week, Boxmoor 1st XI travelled with confidence to a tricky away fixture at Southgate Compton.

Put in to bat on a soft pitch Boxmoor made slow and faltering progress with tight bowling restricting the visitors to 60-4 after 25 overs. The lower order added impetus to the innings with Iles (25) and Greaves (28) striking some important blows in partnership with Hodgins (51). The final total of 185 appeared competitive but some wayward Boxmoor bowling and aggressive batting from Southgate's batsmen secured victory for the home side with seven overs to spare. With 41 points from their first two fixtures Boxmoor find themselves in the top half of the table with a run of home fixtures to come.
