Match report The suitably grand surroundings of West Herts Sports Ground was home to a thrilling game of cricket that saw Boxmoor end West Herts unbeaten run.

Boxmoor won the toss and chose to bat. The early loss of Oli Davis who had looked in good touch again, brought Luke Flynn to the crease who hit a rapid 20. Jamie Vincent-Jones (30 retired) played the anchor role but only Oran Swales (14) was able to get into double figures in the face of good bowling and fielding by WHCC. 98 all out with 2 balls to spare looked slightly under par on a small pitch.

It looked an even smaller total as the West Herts batsmen set about some loose bowling, and they raced to 54-1 after 6 overs. With Atty retired, Shilpa then took on the attack and West Herts were well placed at 81-3 after 9 overs. However a run out, accurate bowling from Olly Stokley (3/2/3-9) and Luke Flynn (3/0/2-16) exposed the home side's tail. The last 8 batsmen could only manage 5 runs between them and when Jay Wilson hit the stumps from fine leg, Boxmoor had pulled off a remarkable victory.
