Boxmoor Cricket Club Under 9s v Abbots Langley on Wed 19 May 2010 at 6.00 pm
Boxmoor Cricket Club Won By 29 Runs

Match report A good team performance saw us win our second game of the season, another improved batting display with the loss of only 2 wickets during our innings enabled us to score an impressive 283. Each batsman made a positive contribution throughout the innings which was pleasing and helped us to set a challenging target for Abbots Langley to chase.

Tight and accurate bowling from the very first over put pressure on the Abbots Langley batsman and whilst they were able to pick up runs, they were never able to keep up with the required rate and they finished up on 254.

This result highlighted the importance of not losing wickets which is something we have struggled with in the last 2 games, although these games were against stronger teams. One aspect of the game that was slightly concerning was the amount of no balls and wides that we bowled [ 19 in total ] by far our worst performance of the season.
