Boxmoor Cricket Club Lost By 27 Runs

Match report Having lost the toss we were asked to bat first by Berkhamsted, wickets fell at regular intervals and we were never able to gain any real momentum and losing 8 wickets was a real killer blow. The Berkhamsted bowlers were all accurate and put pressure on the batsmen and made it very difficult to score.

In response we needed to bowl well and take wickets to stand any chance of victory, whilst we bowled well we never quite had the rub of the green and only managed to take 2 wickets. On another day it may have been a closer result, but Berkhamsted played well and deserved their victory although I was pleased the way we stuck to our task and made them work hard to win the game.

In our first game, as a team we were professional and committed to performing well and as a result we were able to achieve the victory that we deserved, in this game I would have to say that we didn't do ourselves justice,
especially the batting which was poor. However this gives us room for improvement and I would hope that when we have the reverse fixture that we can perform better against possibly the strongest team in our league.
