Match report April showers struck late to force a shortened game of 16 overs a side on a wet Boxmoor wicket. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, wihich looked like the wrong decision when Jena took a wicket in the second over. However skipper Angel and Tivey batted sensibly working the singles, before Angel slipped on turning back, to be run out. Sibley (22 n.o) then joined Tivey (22) to add 50 more runs.

Boxmoor's reply was lead by opener Smith (30 n.o.) who had to retire with the home side well poised... but perhaps the turning point was the running out of Vincent-Jones with a direct hit from deep mid-on. Berko's experienced captain soon had the field set well back on a slow wet outfield, so Boxmoor's big hitters Jena (21 n.o) and Flynn (6) could not get near enough for some last over heroics.
