Match report Having already lost some friendlies to the summer holiday weather, it was good to get a game in at last. Despite the usual loss of an opener in the first over, Boxmoor looked for the singles, though both Jay (16) and Oran (4) were run out by excellent direct hits by Charlie. Luke's big hitting finally did for his bat and when he was out for 10 Boxmoor were well set at 49-4 at halfway. Other than extras, Josh (6) was the biggest scorer in the second half as Watford's Spencer (3 for 3) and Hassan (2 for 4) limited the visitors to 81-8.

With most of the squad unavailable, Boxmoor fielded three under 9s who certainly held their own with Barney (1 for 4) and Sam Pimm (2 for 0) bowling three wicket maidens in the first four overs. Sean Williamson came on first change to restore some under 11 pride by taking 3 wickets in his first over, finishing with a Warne-esque leg break that pitched outside leg and took the top of the off stump and figures of 4 for 6, thanks to good catches by Jay and George. Watford were in the mire at 7 for 15, but some wayward bowling and an excellent 33 not out from Elliott left the home side needing 11 to win from the last over. Jay bowled the over out to secure a long awaited and very well deserved win for Boxmoor.
