Junior Cricket
Junior cricket was reintroduced at Boxmoor under the direction of Chris Wright, an ECB Level Two Coach. He is currently assisted Nick Harper (UKCC2) and two UKCC1 coaches, Aidan Pimm and Matt Larkins.
In 2010 we are running squads at Under 9, 11, 13, 14 and 16. We are currently near the limit of children to coach ratios, except at under 14s.
These age groups, by school year, are as follows:
Year 4 – Under 9
Years 5 & 6 – Under 11
Years 7 & 8 – Under 13
Year 9 – Under 14
Years 10 & 11 - Under 16
Boys and girls are welcome, regardless of previous experience and ability. If you are interested in joining please get in touch. Outdoor practice sessions are each Saturday 10 am - noon. Indoor nets will begin again at Westbrook Hay School in Janary 2011.
Our ambition is to establish a girl's section in the next few years. We also actively encourage under 15s to become coaching assistants, through the ECB accreditation process.
Boxmoor CC endorses the ECB's Safe Hands Policy, and has an elected Child Welfare Officer on the main commitee. The club's youth safety policy is published in the Codes of Conduct section of this website. All coaching staff and senior captains are CRB checked via the ECB.
